AK Stoddart processes and supplies premium quality meat products. We make

certain of that quality by being involved at every stage of the supply chain. As well as operating a purpose-built processing plant, the company has its own farms and its own abattoir. From the gate to the plate, the field to the shelf, our fully integrated supply chain is an important part of our customer proposition.

 

PROCUREMENT

Our procurement team sources cattle from a pool of loyal farmers who have supplied the company for many years. Thanks to our strong and longstanding relationships with these farmers, they share our commitment to achieving high levels of consistency and reliability for our customers.


Each year we also breed and finish cattle on our own farms. As farmers ourselves, we have the additional benefit of understanding the issues facing our suppliers. Having our own stock also ensures we meet customer service levels all year round, regardless of season.

ABATTOIR

The AK Stoddart abattoir in Ayr operates beyond the most rigorous EU specifications. Carcasses are slaughtered and dressed to the highest standards. Considerate chilling regimes and best-practice post-slaughtering techniques ensure the tenderness of our products.


The abattoir is fully BRC (British Retail Consortium) accredited, guaranteeing the highest standards in traceability, hygiene and plant management. On-site members of the Meat Hygiene Service constantly monitor our practices and standards.
